A woman's health needs change across a lifetime, and a commercially manufactured product is not always available in the strength, base, or dosage form a provider wants. ProCompounding prepares customized medications to a prescriber's specifications.
Women's health covers a wide range of concerns, from hormone support and vaginal health to PCOS and sensitivities to dyes and fillers. Our pharmacists work with your provider to prepare a medication to the specifications on the prescription.

Hormone support
Estradiol, estriol, progesterone, low-dose testosterone and DHEA, each prepared to the strength a prescriber specifies. Details on each hormone are in the section below.
Vaginal dryness and atrophy

Painful intercourse
Vaginal preparations and, where a provider directs it, low-dose topical preparations.
Low libido and sexual wellness

Customized strengths and allergen-free formulations, including compounded metformin when a prescriber orders it.
Fatigue, sleep disturbance, anxiety and brain fog
These are symptoms a provider may evaluate as part of a hormone workup. Any decision about treatment rests with your prescriber.
Allergen-free reformulation
Removing dyes, lactose, gluten or preservatives from a medication a patient already takes, when a prescriber requests it.

What Each One Is, and the Forms We Prepare It In
These are the hormones a prescriber can order from us for a woman. What is appropriate for you, in what combination and at what strength, is entirely your prescriber's decision. Estradiol (E2)
The estrogen contained in commercially manufactured estradiol patches. We prepare it as a hypoallergenic cream, an olive oil base topical or a vaginal preparation.
Estriol (E3)
Prepared on its own or combined with estradiol as Bi-Est. There is no FDA-approved product manufactured in the United States that contains estriol, which is why an estriol preparation can only come from a compounding pharmacy.
Bi-Est
A combination of estradiol and estriol in a ratio the prescriber specifies. Our Bi-Est contains those two estrogens only. More on compounded Bi-Est.
Progesterone
Prepared as micronized progesterone in oral capsules, as a topical, or as a vaginal preparation, at the strength on the prescription. Learn more about compounded progesterone.
Testosterone for women
Women produce testosterone in much smaller amounts than men. When a prescriber orders it for a woman it is compounded at low dose, most often as a cream. See our page on compounded testosterone for women for what is approved, what the professional societies say, and the forms we prepare.
DHEA
A precursor hormone a prescriber may include in a regimen. We prepare it as an oral capsule, and also as a vaginal preparation. Learn more about our estriol and DHEA vaginal cream.
Having trouble filling a commercially manufactured estradiol patch? We do not make patches of any kind, but a prescriber can order a compounded topical instead — see estradiol patch alternatives. Note that compounded topicals are dosed daily, not once or twice weekly the way a patch is.
Perimenopause, Menopause and Post-Menopause
Hormone needs shift at each of these stages, and what a provider prescribes at one stage may not be what they prescribe at another.

Providers commonly order lab work before and during hormone therapy — blood, saliva or dried urine panels. Your provider orders and interprets lab work. Dosage Forms
Our hormone preparations are hypoallergenic creams, an olive oil base topical, and vaginal preparations, with oral capsules for progesterone and DHEA. A topical gel can be compounded if a prescriber or clinic requests one.
Estrogens and testosterone are prepared as topical or vaginal preparations. We do not compound hormone pellets, patches, troches, or lozenges, and we do not compound injectables of any kind.
