Why LDN Is Compounded
Naltrexone is commercially manufactured in a single, much higher strength. Low dose therapy calls for smaller strengths, and compounding is how patients get them: each prescription is prepared individually, at exactly the strength written.
Preparing a strength no manufacturer offers is exactly what Section 503A allows when a prescriber has a clinical reason, and naltrexone is an approved ingredient that is eligible to be compounded.

What forms do you prepare LDN in?
An oral capsule or a tablet, depending on the strength your provider prescribes. We can leave out dyes, lactose or fillers for patients who are sensitive to them.
Is naltrexone a controlled substance?
No. Naltrexone is an opioid antagonist and is not a controlled substance. A prescription from a licensed provider is still required.
What happens when a provider changes a patient's strength?
Send the new prescription and we prepare the new strength to match.

Yes. As a 503A pharmacy we prepare each prescription for a named patient, so every patient receives the strength written for them.
