A commercially manufactured tablet or capsule contains more than its active ingredient. Dyes, lactose, binders, fillers and oils give it its color, shape and stability, and most people never notice them. Some people react to one of them.
When your prescriber decides you need your medication without a particular ingredient, a compounding pharmacy can prepare the active ingredient in a different base. A compounded preparation has to differ in a way your prescriber documents for you, such as leaving out an ingredient you cannot take. That is exactly this case.
For example, the commercially manufactured micronized progesterone capsule is made with peanut oil. Our compounded progesterone capsules are prepared in a cellulose base instead.

What can you leave out of my medication?
Common requests are dyes, lactose and fillers. Our progesterone capsules are prepared in a cellulose base rather than peanut oil. The pharmacist confirms what is possible for your specific medication.
Can any medication be made dye-free?
Many can, but not all. The active ingredient has to be one a compounding pharmacy may use, and the pharmacist reviews every request. Call us and we will tell you whether yours can be prepared.
Do I need a prescription?
Yes. A compounded medication is prepared from a prescription, and your prescriber notes what needs to be left out. We do not prescribe; we prepare what your prescriber orders.
How do I make sure my allergy is taken into account?
Tell your prescriber about every allergy and sensitivity so it can be written into the prescription, and mention it when our team confirms your order. The pharmacist reviews your formulation with it in mind.
Can I transfer a prescription I already have?
Yes. Give us your current pharmacy's details and we will request the transfer. If you need a version without a certain ingredient, your prescriber will need to update the prescription.
