What is the difference between mebendazole and ivermectin?
Both are antiparasitic medications, but they work differently. Mebendazole targets intestinal worms such as pinworm, whipworm, roundworm, and hookworm by interfering with the parasite's ability to absorb nutrients. Ivermectin is used for infections such as strongyloidiasis and onchocerciasis and acts on the parasite's nerve and muscle cells. Our protocol pairs the two because they cover different parasite life stages; your prescriber decides what is appropriate for you.
