    HOW DIRECT-TO-PATIENT WORKS

From your prescriber to your patient’s doorstep.

Every prescription we fill is written for a named patient, which is what lets us ship it directly to the person it was made for. Here is what that looks like for your team.

    01

    Send the prescription

Your providers send each prescription by direct API connection, e-prescribing or our provider portal, with the patient’s shipping address.

    02

    We review and compound

A pharmacist reviews every formulation before it is made. We have a 48-hour compounding time on most preparations; shipping time is additional.

    03

    We ship to the patient

Each order is packed for the named patient and shipped to their home in any of the 50 states or the District of Columbia.

    04

    Tracking your team can see

Shipment tracking comes back to your team, so your support staff can answer a patient’s delivery question without calling the pharmacy.

    BEFORE YOUR FIRST SHIPMENT

    The details
    worth asking about.

Agree on the scope before you build your launch around it.

    What does direct-to-patient fulfillment mean?

Your providers send the prescription, and we compound it for the named patient, pack it and ship it to the patient’s home. Your clinic does not have to receive, store or re-ship medication.

    Is every order patient-specific?

Yes. As a 503A pharmacy, we prepare each prescription for the patient named on it. That is what makes direct-to-patient shipping the natural model: the preparation goes straight to the person it was made for.

Can direct-to-patient orders connect to our platform?

Yes. Larger programs usually use a direct API connection, so prescriptions come in and tracking goes back to your system. E-prescribing and our provider portal are also available.

    Where can ProCompounding ship?

We ship to all 50 states and Washington, DC. Your program’s medication and fulfillment requirements are reviewed during onboarding.

    How long does compounding take?

We compound most preparations within 48 hours of receiving a complete, valid prescription and the resolution of any patient, clinical or payment requirements. Custom formulations, controlled medications, high-volume launches and preparations requiring additional testing or release procedures may require additional time. Shipping time is additional.

Will we receive a fulfillment contract and billing terms?

Yes. Fulfillment contracts and billing terms are provided as part of establishing the partnership. Program-specific scope and responsibilities are discussed before rollout.
