How These Medicines Act
GLP-1 and GIP are naturally occurring hormones released by your gut after eating. They signal your brain to feel full, slow the rate at which food leaves your stomach, and help regulate insulin release. In people with obesity or metabolic conditions, these signals may be weakened or insufficient.
Semaglutide and tirzepatide act on these signaling pathways. What any therapy will do in an individual case is not something we can predict, and it is a discussion for you and your prescriber.
